Introduction to Watercolor Painting
Are you seeking a creative outlet to unleash your artistic potential? Join us for our Introduction to Watercolor Painting workshop, thoughtfully designed for adults, stay-at-home parents, and seniors! Over the course of five sessions, we will explore the therapeutic benefits of watercolor and experience how art can truly be a meditative practice that promotes relaxation and self-expression.
Led by an experienced art instructor, this engaging workshop will guide you through the basics of watercolor painting, including color mixing, brushwork, and water to pigment ratio. We will also experiment with a variety of techniques, such as wax resist, rubbing alcohol, and salt application. Throughout this course, we will apply these fundamental skills and techniques to a handful of small compositions that reflect your newfound skills and unique style.
Whether you’re a complete novice or looking to reconnect with your artistic side, this class is the perfect opportunity to unwind, meet like-minded individuals, and experience the calming power of watercolor. All materials are provided—just bring your willingness to explore and have fun!
