Summer Art Adventure Camp - Handbuilding Ceramics - Under the Sea!
Dive into a week of artistic adventure! Our one-week ceramic camp introduces kids (ages 7-13) to ceramic basics, handbuilding, and glazing. Explore "Under the Sea" themes, creating pottery like treasure chests, sea creatures, and more. Campers take home pre-fired glazed artwork on the last day of camp, and larger wet clay projects are ready for pickup two weeks later. Limited to 20 participants for a personalized experience for all. Campers not only leave with new artistic skills but also with a collection of their unique pottery creations, showcasing their journey into the captivating world of ceramics.
Camp runs from 9 am to 4 pm Monday-Friday. Please check your camper in by 8:55 am. Pick up promptly at 4 pm. We do not offer before or after care for campers.
Parking is located in the lot behind the studio and limited parking on Michigan Avenue at the front entrance to the studio.
Campers should bring a nut-free lunch, 2 snacks, and a refillable water bottle with a lid. Campers’ first and last names should be on all personal belongings. Food may not be shared among campers.
Campers should bring sunblock, sneakers, and sun hats for outside break time, weather permitting.
The glaze we use can leave stains, so campers should wear old clothing or bring along a smock or an old t-shirt that may be left at the studio. Campers should also wear comfortable closed toed shoes.
On the last day of camp, parents are invited to the studio at 3 pm for an “art show.” This is a special time for campers to share their work with their parents, grandparents, siblings, etc., and an opportunity for you to speak to our instructors.
We welcome all aspiring artists of all ages and abilities. However, if your child requires additional assistance or needs individualized attention, please call the studio before you register. Thank you.
